Traveling to the Galápagos Islands

We left our hotel in Quito at 4:45 am.  We flew 45 minutes to Guyaquil, Ecuador where we let off some passengers, then contined 1 ½ hours to Baltra Island.  A bus took us to the other end of the island to board a ferry.  Then the ferry took us to the northern end of Santa Cruz Isand.

Another bus - but we made a few stops on the way to our Galapagos boat.  We viewed two sink holes (craters)

Then visited a giant tortoise sanctuary.

At the sanctuary we walked into a lava cave.

After some refreshments we rode to the area where the boats are.  We waited for two small boats (pangas) to take us to our new home, the Carina.

After snacks and an orientation, we got back on the pangas and went to the port where we walked around the town, shopped, and took photos.

Dinner, sleep, and the excitement of knowing we'd wake up at Isabel Island.

Special thanks to the Ross women for providing me with the amazing Austrailian drugs for motion sickness!  You truly saved the day for me!!!!!!!!!
