Galápagos Islands - Day Two

Our boat had traveled about 10 hours around the southern end of Isabel Island, to the opposite side of the island we visited yesterday.  We got up early hoping to see the sunrise but it was cloudy and a little drizzly.

At 8am we boarded the pangas for a 2-hour boat exploration of the area.  We were NOT disappointed!  We saw blue footed boobies, frigate birds, pelicans, flightless cormorants, herons, penguins, sea lions, and sea turtles.

We had 4 hours of free time on the Carina, as the boat continued up the west coast of the Island. A much needed rest after the heat and humidity of the morning. There were tours of the kitchen and the bridge.

Then lunch, with the always beautiful salads.

When our boat reached the next destination, there was a snorkeling excursion.  Gregg tried out our new underwater camera with mixed results.  A playful sea lion swam around everyone.

Later we took a hike.

Finally, back to the Carina for dinner.

During the night, we crossed the equator - twice!
